Slow, cold, wet spring

Spring has been long to come, again, this year.  There has been a lot of rain, which has made farming very difficult.  We enjoy 'baby season,' but it comes with a lot of risks.

Here, Mara was getting acquainted with a baby twin.

Pretty girl.

Daddy is working to finish the deck, and Mara is proving she enjoys being outside.  She was quickly learning how to measure like Daddy (I didn't even plan the white t-shirt and jeans).

And of course, our weekends wouldn't be complete without a trip to Menards.  We bought all of our flowers for planting, and Mara enjoyed a little bud.

She wasn't in a posing mood, but it was just so cute how she cuddled herself into this chair, pulled her blanket on her lap, tucked her cow in the corner, and started reading.

Mara's vocabulary is expanding.  She says 'cookie,' 'bite,' 'Mavy,' 'Bro-bro,' 'movie,' and if she's in the right mood, will try to copy your words if you ask her.

She loves to sing.  Sometimes Twinkle, Twinkle, most of the time 'Go' (Let it go).  She will often just sing to herself in her carseat or in her crib if she isn't sleeping.  She can entertain herself with a washcloth and a cup, or spend hours playing with her Minnie Mouse figures (taking on and off accessories).

She's working on two eye teeth.  Loves to brush her teeth, and will still let Mommy help her.  She loves to run around naked after her bath (and would all the time if she had a choice).  She now wants to eat strawberries whole (take her own bites), and needs to dip all of her food in something (usually sucking the dip off until you tell her to take a bite).

She still loves her babies.  Though she isn't particular about which ones, just having one in hand makes her happy.  She sleeps great at night, and has transitioned to going to bed between 7:30-8 and getting up between 6-7.  She still takes 2 naps (except for Mommy, of course).

We're ready for some warm weather to play outside and enjoy our new deck and patio.
